About the Client

Established in 2008, Dancing Daisy has both a physical store based in Ferndown, Dorset together with an online e-commerce store. Supplying and fitting dancewear and dance shoes for Dancers, Dance Schools, Teachers and Dance Shops for 12 years, Dancing Daisy has become very popular with all dance schools not just in the local area. The business is run and managed by June who has a wealth of experience within the clothing industry.

The Requirement

Dancing Daisy had their fair share of issues with E-commerce sites in the past. They had a non-working Open Cart E-commerce website, so much so that sales had slumped down from thousands to hundreds. Starting with a completely online builder site and ending up with an OpenCart solution which didn’t quite fit the bill both in terms of function and content management offering.

The main points that were not working or had issues were;

• Product management including variants,
• Affiliate Marketing
• POS (Point Of Sale)
• Export/import process for product management
• Front end content management
• Oder management
• ShipStation integration.

In terms of design, the client liked their current design so this needed to stay as is with some minor tweaks. Existing checkout solutions were required to be implemented into the new platform. We needed to investigate the internal warehouse software in order to control products and stock.

Work Carried Out

An Ongoing re-write of the website from a failing platform to a more stable WordPress/WooCommerce framework to get all elements working correctly.

The look and feel of the website has been kept in line with existing site design with some minor tweaks as requested by the client.

The back office has been built to give the client maximum content management including all product related data including but not limited to all product options using the variant process. Research into the best Affiliate Marketing, and Import/Export plugins was carried out and implemented/tested fully working prior to go live.

Both checkout options have been developed into the site PayPal and Payment Sense (Credit Card Processing). ShipStation was integrated into the site with all functions tested working as required. Work continues to provide a professional POS (Point Of Sale) in line with client requirements.

The result

Export of all data from the old website, which was on an old e-commerce platform, was imported into the WordPress/WooCommerce site successfully. This included all pricing, descriptions, variations and images.

During the build of the website the client implemented Storefeeder WMS and all development work was carried out to connect the new site into the new internal cloud based system.

The website was given an overall facelift from its old format and additional functions were also added in such as the mega menu and wholesale pricing. This was followed on by the implementation of the affiliate marketing platform which further enhanced the customer’s offering to its clients.

Following on from this success the customer engaged with us on two additional projects, The Purple Print Studio and Dancemania.

We continue to support June and her team through the many changes that the business has gone through in the last couple of years.
