The Requirement

Another customer who’s existing web company went out of business, Stuart contacted us after being referred by a friend. He was beside himself as he was rapidly losing business and also could not communicate with his existing customers as both his website and email were offline.

Our job was quite simple, rescue his website and email for him to continue business as usual. To achieve this we needed to rescue his Domain first, then website and finally email.

Work carried out

Initial contact was made with the Domain registrar with whom we had dealings with before in a similar case. We set Stuart up with his own account with the registrar (Important that customers own their Domain). Once we had gone through the various security checks we managed to get Stuart in contact with them so that he could prove company ownership and release the Domain into his control.

Once the Domain was in his control, thankfully the hosting was also with the Domain registrar so we had no further involvement in recovering the website and emails.

The Result

Within two days we had a very happy Stuart on the phone informing us that he not only had his website back up and running, his emails were all back safely in his inbox and he was able to continue with his business.

Sometimes we don’t have to get fully into a website rescue and thankfully this one was a relatively easy one to fix. We mention all the time to our customers how important it is to own your own Domain. This is exactly why this is so important.
